We’re excited to announce a handy new feature for the iOS users out there: Origin widgets! This will help you stay on top of your spending with a single glance — plus it’s super easy to add to your home screen (more on that below).
Our new widget shows what you’ve spent this month, and how that compares to the previous month. Additionally, if you have a budget set up with Origin, you can see how you’re pacing towards your monthly budget limit. It gives you all the info you need, in one glance. It also adapts to your preferred display mode: light or dark. This will be the first of many iPhone widgets rolling out this quarter.
This new widget means you can always keep an eye on your spending without having to open your Origin app. Its at-a-glance capability can help you curtail those impulse purchases — or, let you know that you have a little bit of wiggle room left before you hit your budget limit.
Adding a widget to your iPhone or iPad home screen is easy. Simply press and hold anywhere on the screen, which will make all your apps begin to shake gently. When that happens, a plus sign will appear in the top left corner:
Click that plus sign. From there, you’ll get a list of suggested widgets, but you can specifically select ours by searching for “Origin.”
A sample widget screen will appear, and all you have to do is select "add widget." Easy as that!
You can also add it to your “Today” screen (which is what pops up when you swipe to the right), or you can create a widget “stack,” which allows you to view multiple widgets via scrolling, while only taking up the space of a single widget.
We hope this new feature will make sticking to your budget even easier, and we can’t wait for Origin’s spending tracking to become a regular part of your screen time. Let us know what widget functions you’d like to see next!
